Date syrup
Molasses is a syrup typical of Middle Eastern cuisine, obtained from date extracts. In the West, it is used in the same way as maple syrup, in spreads or to accompany pancakes or waffles. In the Near East, it is often mixed with tahini before being eaten with pita bread (brunch), or with pastries for its characteristic taste and smell.
